VGSynergy is a question-and-answer network for Vista Grande and nobody else. It sits behind the school sign-in, so the only people reading and answering are Spartans, and none of it is on the open web. You post what you're stuck on, and somebody who has already been through it answers.
It runs on circles. A circle is just a room for one subject: s/APChem for the class, s/Robotics for the club, s/Rides for the drive home, s/LostAndFound for the jacket you left in the gym. Join the ones you care about and your feed fills with those, though you can post to any circle whether you joined it or not. If the room you need doesn't exist, propose it. A circle started by a teacher or an admin opens right away, and one started by a student opens once ten members back it, or sooner if an admin signs off.
Posting takes about a minute. Pick the circle, pick the kind of post, write it plainly, add a photo if it helps. There are five kinds: questions, discussions, polls, rides, and lost and found. The last two have their own fields for the place and how to reach you, so the part that matters never gets buried halfway down a paragraph.
Then the thread does the work. People answer, everyone votes the useful ones up, and when an answer actually solves it you accept it. The thread gets a Solved badge, and the next Spartan who searches the same problem lands on the answer instead of asking it again, which is why accepting matters more than it looks.
It's a school space, so it's held to school rules. Answers help, they don't grade. Walk someone through the idea or point at the step they missed, but posting full answers to a test that's still open is off limits. Every post and photo runs an automatic check on the way up, anything that trips it goes to staff, and you can flag a post yourself from the report page.
The shape is Reddit's. Circles are subreddits, down to the s/ in front of the name, and the same subscribe-and-vote loop runs underneath. One piece comes from somewhere else: marking the reply that solved it and stamping the thread Solved is how Stack Overflow works, and it's what makes a question worth finding six months later. Neither of them has a door, though. Reddit is strangers by design. This is people you'll pass in the hall tomorrow, which changes both what gets posted and how it gets answered.
